It’s been a while

Well, those several years went by quickly! Life has moved on since the end of 2016. While I’m still at the Catskill Center, Moe and I now co-own and he runs full time, Hike On Guides, a hiking and camping guiding company. Moe is the lead guide there and is having a great time introducing folks to hiking and camping in the Catskills (and beyond).

There’s Covid-19 too. That’s changed a lot of how everything happens in the past year, including work at the Catskill Center. It’s been more than a year since I’ve worked in my office at the Erpf Center, but the Center is still doing its important work across the Catskills – advocating for, collaborating across, and stewarding of our Catskills. I couldn’t be more proud of the work my team is doing every day, even in difficult times.

This summer Moe and I thru-hiked the Northville-Placid Trail — 132 miles of amazing wilderness through the heart of the Adirondacks. It was fun to see Moe at his thru-hiking best and get to experience that time with him. I’m looking forward to taking my journal from that trip and eventually turning it into a narrative of the adventure.

I’m hoping to get back into the habit of giving myself some creative personal space over the next year. I’ve put a lot of myself into work over the last several years and if Covid has helped me learn anything, I’ve got to give myself some space to have time to do some things just for me. Looking forward to seeing this site grow as part of that.
