I spent this past weekend at my Alma Mater, Lyndon State College taking part in the Alumni Council retreat, where I hope to be able to give back to the college some of what it gave to me while I was a student.
I attended Lyndon State from 1995 to 1999. This small college located in the heart of Vermont’s Northeast Kingdom offers students a chance to really get involved in their study area. The college has a number of different programs including world class meteorology and broadcasting majors (among many others). I attended for LSC’s Environmental Science program where I mostly studied geology and biology. I received my BS in Environmental Science and had a minor in Geology and in Biology.
I loved my time at LSC where I had the ability to work one on one with professors, had classes at times that were only me, another student and the professor, and where the surrounding Northeast Kingdom was actually part of the classroom.
Now I give back to the college by being a member of the Alumni Council and love every opportunity I get to go back to the college and the Northeast Kingdom.
