One site that I have been writing on for almost twelve years now is Epinions.com.  This site began as a customer review site in the late 1990s that paid users for their reviews of products, places and other items.  I began writing in January of 2001 while I was living in Maine and wanted to complain about a bad camera that I had purchased and I have been writing ever since.  Currently I’ve got over 980 reviews on the site that include everything from toothpaste to my cars.

Over time I have focused my writing on a few areas though, with the majority of my reviews being in the Travel section.  I love writing about the places, parks and destinations that I have been to and having the opportunity to do that and earn a few extra dollars here and there has been very cool.  I also write quite a lot in the Outdoor Gear section and the Electronics section.

I’m currently a Top Reviewer in the Travel and the Outdoor Gear Categories.  A Top Reviewer is someone who writes regular, quality reviews in the section.  I am also an Advisor in the Electronics and the Outdoor Gear categories.  An Advisor is someone who rates reviews and offers reviewers advice on how to improve their reviews.

While the vast majority of my online review writing catalog is hosted at Epinions, I have over the years written some reviews at Viewpoints and at the Yahoo Contributor Network.  In both cases, I also wrote under the same username as Epinions – jps246.

I also maintain a blog of my online reviews called ReviewThis.  This blog includes introductions to most of the reviews that I have on Epinions and the other sites, along with stand alone reviews of items that I have been unable to find or have added to the Epinions database.
