Having always loved the outdoors, I started blogging about my hikes and other outdoor trips several years ago which eventually led to the creation of Adventures in the Outdoors.  It started with the blog and has expanded into a Facebook and Twitter presence.  Basically I consider it to be a community of like minded outdoor entusiasts who enjoy non-motorized outdoor recreation – hiking, skiing, biking, paddling and whatever else you can think of.  There are stories of hikes, reviews of gear, news, how-tos and more there.
